First Grade Reminders
PLANNER: DAILY. Please sign and return with any notes you may have.
WORD JOURNEYS: New words are sent home each MONDAY. Word Journeys (Spelling) tests each FRIDAY.
GUIDED READING: A new book is sent home DAILY in a baggie. Please return them the following day.
BEAR SLIPS: A new slip is sent home DAILY please sign and sends back to school in the baggie.
MATH HOME LINKS: Home links are to be done at home with help from family and sent home the following day. These are not sent home every day. Please keep the "Family Letters"; they do NOT need to be sent back to school.
SIGHT WORDS: New lists are sent home as needed.. They do not need to spell these, just read them.
SHOW AND TELL: Show and Tell is each FRIDAY.

Our 2010-2011 Behavior Plan
Dear Parents,
In order to provide first grade students with the excellent educational climate that they deserve, I have developed the following Classroom Discipline Plan that will be in effect at all times. Each student will begin the day with a green card in their behavior pocket. If he/she chooses to break a rule: 1st time: yellow card - - Child receives a verbal warning. 2nd time: red card - - Child will lose 5 minutes at recess. 3rd time: blue card- - Child will lose 15 minutes of recess 4th time: card taken to the Office for a referral and parents called Severe Clause: Any child who causes bodily harm to another will be sent to the principal. There may be times when certain student actions will prompt other consequences.
The expectations of our students are as follows:
1. Be a good listener and pay attention.
2. Be a quite worker and be respectful.
3. Talk at appropriate times.
I hope that my students will be able to stay on green for the whole day. When each student receives their 10th star (stays on green 10 times) we will have a class celebration.
A star means the student stayed on green all day. The day’s mark will be in the planner. Thank you for your support.
